How to calculating service fees

1. Principles for calculating small unit shipping charges (by kilograms)

1.1 Calculation of small service fees in the case of Volume Weight values

Example: The parcel weight 2 kilograms, box size 12″ x 12″ x 6″.

  • Weight 2 kilograms, price for ocean freight are $7.5 per kilograms
  • Weight by volume or Volume Weight = 12 x 12 x 6/366 = 2.36 kilograms

(This means that the box can filled 2.36 kilograms. Subtract it from the actual weight. The difference is 0.36 kilograms, calculated at $3 per kilogram.)

So, this package must be charged for Volume Weight because the Volume Weight value is greater than the actual weight.

There are 3 parts to the service charge method:

  • Part 1: Delivery fee for actual product weight 2 kg. x $7.5     = $15
  • Part 2 : Volume Weight 0.36 x$3 = $1.08
  • Part 3: Delivery fee in Bangkok metropolitan area = $15

            So the total ocean freight charge is $1.08 + $15+ $15  = $31.08

1.2 Calculation of small service fees in the case where there is no Volume Weight value

Example: Parcel delivery size: width 10 inches, length 10 inches, height 10 inches, actual weight 15 kilograms.

There are 3 parts to the service charge method:

  • Part 1, Shipping fee based on actual weight: 15 x $7.5 = $112.5
  • Part 2, Volume Weight: (10x10x10)/366 = 2.73 kilograms
The actual weight of the parcel is greater than the volume weight of the parcel.
Therefore, the service charge is based on actual weight = $112.5
  • Part 3: Delivery fee in Bangkok metropolitan area = $15

So, the total ocean freight charge is $112.5+$15 = $127.5

2. Principles for calculating shipping charges for large shipment (Pallet)

Example: Packages placed on a pallet, width 40 inches, length 48 inches, height 77 inches, actual weight 500 kilograms.

  • ส่วนที่ 1 คํานวนหาเนื้อที่ในการขนส่ง (กxยxส (นิ้ว)/1728) :     40x48x77 / 1728 = 85.56 ลูกบาศก์ฟุต
  • Part 2: Shipping cost:  85.56 x 20 = $1,711.2
  • Part 3 Shipping cost to the destination address in Bangkok is $75.00

          Therefore, the total ocean freight charge is $1,711.2 + $75 = $1,786.20.

3. Principles for calculating expenses for sending personal items (Personal Shipping)

International principles for calculating shipping costs by area

(Length 48 inches) x (Width 40  inches) x (Height “X”  inches) / 1728 = cubic feet

(cubic feet) x (price per cubic foot) = cost

Example: How to calculate shipping costs (as an example for those who need to send personal items back to Thailand)

You have 11 boxes measuring length 24 inches x width 20 inches x height 20 inches, arranged on a standard pallet size 40 inches x 48 inches. The measurements can be calculated as follows.

Width 40 inches x Length 48 inches x Height 66 inches*= 126,720 cubic inches

*** Note: The height of your transport area must be measured from the ground together with the base of the pallet. According to world transportation standards

Once you have cubic inches, convert cubic inches to cubic feet by dividing by 1728.

126,720 /1,728 =  73.33 cubic feet

Once you have the cubic foot unit Multiply the number of cubic feet by the shipping rate per cubic foot.

73.33  x $15.5 = $1,136.62

Therefore, the cost of shipping by ocean freight plus the cost of shipping to Bangkok. equal to the total shipping cost

****Total Cost = $1,136.62 + $75 = $1,211.62****

**In case of delivery to other provinces, there will be additional costs**

**The cost of ocean freight for personal items includes the rates for import processing services in Thailand and domestic transportation services to the destination address in Thailand. There will not be any additional costs after the product reaches the customer. Door to Door Service **
